Shawn Hoffman Sets New Projects in Motion as Samson and The Final Hour Move

Los Angeles — Exclusive.

Actor, writer, and producer Shawn Hoffman is building fresh momentum with two feature projects—Samson and The Final Hour—both currently listed in pre-production. Hoffman is attached as writer and producer on each film and is set to appear on screen, continuing his long-standing focus on character-driven, morally complex stories.

Hoffman first drew attention as the writer and co-producer of the inspirational football drama Hometown Legend, followed by work on the true-crime titles Karla and Ed Gein: The Butcher of Plainfield, where he brought psychological texture to both sides of the law. His feature and video credits also include A Dead Calling, The Heat Chamber, A Descent of Woodpeckers, and Hot Rush, showcasing his range from suspense to grounded drama.

On television, Hoffman has appeared in series such as Shameless, Forever, Providence, Suddenly Susan, Charlie Grace, and the TV movies Spring Break Lawyer, Assault on Dome 4, and Double Jeopardy, in addition to serving as a consulting producer on The Apprentice. Early in his career, he was featured as a performer during The 69th Annual Academy Awards telecast.

With Samson and The Final Hour now moving through development, industry watchers see this next phase as a natural extension of Hoffman’s evolution from actor to storyteller and creator. As both projects continue toward production, Hoffman’s blend of on-screen experience and behind-the-camera authorship positions him as a notable multi-hyphenate to watch in the upcoming release cycle.
