What Sets the HCH50R InfiRay Thermal Scope Apart

We are a Dealer for Thermal Hunting scopes, Monoculars and Binoculars. We are one of the few thermal dealers who actually manufacture accessories for the scopes and monoculars.

Night hunters have more than one type of thermal optic at their disposal. There are thermal monoculars and binoculars which are predominantly used for scouting and scanning; some are even equipped with integrated laser rangefinders for accurately estimating distance.

Then there are dedicated thermal rifle scopes, which mount to a rifle, have a reticle, and which are actually used for executing a shot, though they can fill other roles as well.

There are also clip-on thermal optics that can be used to convert an existing glass optic into a thermal scope, delivering an unprecedented level of versatility and flexibility to the platform to which they’re added.

There is one InfiRay thermal optic, the HCH50R, that combines a lot of features into one package, and which is one of the best thermal scopes on the market right now. Here are a few of the reasons why.

  • The HCH50R sports the industry’s first 10μm thermal sensor. Other competing thermal optics in the industry right now have at best 12μm thermal sensors; as a result, the HCH50R is much faster. It also sports “Fast Engine” low latency architecture at 15ms along with a super-fast 60Hz frame rate, delivering an exceptionally smooth viewing experience and remarkable clarity.

  • On top of its speed, this InfiRay thermal scope also boasts a 640x480 resolution; though there are thermal scopes out there with better resolution, this one is very sensitive, with a NETD rating of 15mK or better. It’s exceptionally good at detecting insignificant thermal gradients, so you get a remarkably detailed sight picture as a result.

  • It’s also equipped with 3.5x native magnification, so it’s perfect for close and intermediate ranges, making it one of the best thermal scopes on this ground alone. It’s better than thermal scopes that don’t offer native magnification and it does not require you to rely on digital zoom, which is often grainy and degrades the quality of the sight picture (though it does also support digital zoom to 8x).

  • The HCH50R is, on top of all of these other attributes, one of the most versatile thermal optics out there. In addition to the fact that it can be run as a dedicated thermal scope, it can be run as a handheld thermal monocular as well as a clip-on. Used as a monocular, it can be ideal for scanning, scouting, and tracking, since it has a remarkable detection range, at over 3000 yards. Being able to run it as a clip-on thermal optic is even better; you can use it with your rifle’s existing scope, converting it to a thermal scope without the need to mount and zero a new optic.

  • On top of these features, this InfiRay thermal scope also sports an integrated laser rangefinder along with a ballistic calculator so you can estimate ranges accurately and execute shots confidently.

In addition to these main features, the InfiRay thermal HCH50R also:

  • Sports top-side focus controls.
  • Has an upgraded button layout for easier manipulation and control in the dark.
  • Has a manual-focus lens.
  • Accepts an 18650 rechargeable battery and comes with two.
  • Is Bluetooth compatible.
  • Supports seven display color palettes.
  • Has on-board photo and video recording with 65gb of storage.
  • Is IP67 rated against moisture and particulate ingress.
  • And is remarkably reliable in cold weather, operating at temperatures as low as -25℉.

That this is an excellent InfiRay thermal scope is a foregone conclusion, but if you want to learn more about it before you buy, get in touch with Dark Night Outdoors or contact them directly at 309-781-8421 and they will be more than happy to answer any questions you have.
