As per the recent update construction of Clementi & King Albert Park MRT Stations of the Cross-Island Line will begin in Q1 of 2024 and soon provide reduced travel time and a comfortable commutation experience to passengers.

The New Construction on the Cross-Island Line Has Begun

Quite recently, updates have extended in terms of the construction of new Clementi & King Albert Park MRT Stations of the Cross-Island Line.

  • As per the recent update, the construction of Clementi & King Albert Park MRT Stations of the Cross-Island Line has already begun in the first quarter of this year.
  • CRL is Singapore's eighth MRT line which spans over 50 km and covers Singapore's major hubs like Jurong Lake District, Punggol Digital District, and Changi.
  • For the construction of stations, LTA awarded two civil contracts to the joint venture between the Singapore Branch of China Communications Construction Company Limited and the Singapore Branch of Sinohydro Corporation Limited at the prescribed value of $514 million. 
  • As per the update, Clementi MRT station once completed will have an interchange station between the East-West Line (EWL).
  • For the speedy completion of the project, Sinohydra Corporation Limited involved a wide range of local and overseas infrastructure projects.

Highlights of King Albert Park Station

  • For the construction of King Albert Park MRT station, the Singapore Branch of China Communications Construction Company Limited has been awarded the civil contract CR205 valued at $447 million.
  • After the completion of this station, there will be an interchange with the Downtown Line (DTL).
