The Step-by-Step Way to Maintain a Synthetic Running Track

Synthetic tracks are special sports floors. They are made of plastic and rubber. To keep them soft and bouncy, you must follow these easy maintenance steps.

1. No Fire and No Heat

Plastic tracks do not like heat. High temperatures can make the track material change its shape. This is called 'melting' or 'deforming.' You should never put hot things on the track. For example, never use a grill or a heater near the surface. Also, smoking is very bad for the track.
A small, hot cigarette butt can burn a hole in the floor. This makes the track look ugly and can cause runners to trip.

2. Keeping It Clean From Trash

Keep the track clean from junk like gum and sweet drinks. If chewing gum gets on the track, it is hard to remove. A good trick is to put ice on the gum. When the gum gets cold and hard, you can pick it off. Also, do not spill soda or juice. These drinks are sticky and will attract dirt. If you spill something, wash it with water immediately.

3. Regular Washing

Just like we wash our cars, we should wash the track. You can use a water hose to spray away dust. For oil stains, you can use a little bit of soap or laundry detergent mixed with water. For big stains, 10% ammonia water works well. Always use soft brushes so you don't scratch the surface. Keeping it clean helps the track stay bright and colorful.

4. No Cars or Sharp Shoes

Only feet should be on the track! Never drive a car, a bike, or a scooter on it. The heavy wheels will tear the plastic. Also, check your shoes. Soft sneakers are perfect. Do not wear shoes with long metal spikes. Sharp things like tools or knives should never be dropped on the track because they can cut the material like paper.

5. Look at the Edges

The edges of the track are the weakest parts. Do not pull or lift the edges. If you see a bubble or a loose piece, tell someone fast. If a small hole is fixed quickly, it won't become a big, expensive problem later. Repairing small damage early keeps everyone safe.

6. Use It for Sports Only

Running tracks are for running and exercising. They are not for parking cars or putting up heavy tents for parties. While they can be used in the rain because they drain water well, they should only be used for sports. Using the track for the wrong things will wear it out much faster.

Conclusion: If we all follow these simple rules, our running track will stay beautiful and safe for many years. It is a great place for everyone to exercise, so let's take good care of it!
