New Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift 2026: What Has Changed?

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza has been a popular choice among Indian buyers looking for a compact SUV that is easy to drive, practical and affordable to maintain. For 2026, Maruti Suzuki has given the Brezza a facelift with a refreshed design, more features, improved safety equipment and, most importantly, a new turbo-petrol engine. The updated model was launched in India on 24 July 2026.

If you want to know more about the latest model, you can also read this detailed 2026 Maruti Suzuki Brezza facelift guide, which covers its prices, variants and specifications.

Fresh Look With Familiar Proportions

The 2026 Brezza does not look completely different from the outgoing model. Maruti Suzuki has kept the familiar boxy shape and upright SUV stance, but there are several small changes.

The front gets a revised grille with darker chrome detailing, a redesigned bumper and new fog lamp housings. The SUV also gets new alloy wheel designs and updated side cladding. At the back, the changes are more subtle, with an updated bumper and small styling changes.

The overall approach is simple. Maruti has tried to make the Brezza look newer without changing the design that existing buyers already know.

A New Turbo-Petrol Engine

One of the biggest changes is under the bonnet. The 2026 Brezza now gets a new 1.0-litre Turbo Boosterjet petrol engine. It produces 110 PS and 170 Nm of torque, giving it considerably more punch than the naturally aspirated petrol engine. The turbo engine comes with a six-speed manual gearbox. Maruti claims a fuel efficiency figure of up to 20.47 km/l, depending on the variant.

The familiar 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine continues as well. It produces 103 PS and 139 Nm and is available with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearbox. Buyers who prefer lower running costs can also choose the S-CNG version.

The CNG model gets an underbody-mounted tank, which helps preserve usable luggage space. Maruti claims an efficiency figure of 26.9 km/kg for the S-CNG version.

This wider choice makes the Brezza suitable for different types of buyers. The turbo model should appeal to people who want stronger acceleration, while the regular petrol and CNG versions remain more focused on everyday use and efficiency.

More Features Inside

The cabin has not received a complete redesign, but it feels more up to date thanks to several new features.

One of the most noticeable changes is the larger 10.1-inch SmartPlay Pro X touchscreen infotainment system. It supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while higher variants also get connected car features through Suzuki Connect.

Maruti has also added ventilated front seats on higher variants. This should be particularly useful during India's hot summers. Other available features include a wireless phone charger with active cooling, electric sunroof, ambient lighting, automatic climate control and rear AC vents.

The cabin still follows a fairly simple layout rather than trying to look overly futuristic. This could work in its favour for buyers who prefer controls that are easy to understand.

Safety Gets a Major Boost

Safety is arguably the most important improvement in the facelift. The new Brezza has received a five-star Bharat NCAP rating for both adult and child occupant protection.

Six airbags are now standard across the range, along with Electronic Stability Programme and Hill Hold Assist. The SUV also gets front parking sensors and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Higher variants receive additional features such as Blind Spot Warning with Lane Change Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Safe Exit Warning. A 360-degree camera is also available on the top variant.

It is worth noting that these systems are not the same as a full Level 2 ADAS package found in some newer rivals. However, the extra safety equipment is still a useful step forward for the Brezza.

Price and Positioning

Maruti Suzuki's official pricing shows the 2026 Brezza range starting at ₹7.40 lakh ex-showroom for the Turbo LXi, while prices rise depending on the engine, gearbox and variant.

The Brezza continues to compete in a crowded compact SUV market. Models such as the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO and Skoda Kylaq give buyers plenty of alternatives.

However, the Brezza has a few strong advantages. Maruti Suzuki's extensive service network, choice of petrol and CNG powertrains and relatively straightforward ownership experience remain important reasons for its popularity.

Is the 2026 Brezza Worth Considering?

The 2026 Maruti Suzuki Brezza facelift is more than just a cosmetic update. The new turbo engine adds another reason to consider the SUV, while the improved cabin and additional safety features address some of the areas where the previous model was starting to feel dated.

The design remains familiar, so buyers looking for a completely new-looking SUV may find the changes less dramatic. The turbo engine is also available only with a manual gearbox, which may disappoint buyers who prefer an automatic.

Still, the combination of practical dimensions, multiple powertrain choices, useful features and a five-star Bharat NCAP rating makes the new Brezza a strong option in its segment. For buyers who want a compact SUV for everyday city driving, family use and occasional highway trips, the facelift deserves a place on the shortlist.
