A low-fat diet is a dietary strategy that focuses on decreasing the consumption of fats, namely saturated and trans fats, in order to increase the intake of carbohydrates and protein. This can lead to weight loss and improved metabolic health. Reducing the consumption of saturated and trans fats can also contribute to the reduction of LDL (bad) cholesterol levels and decrease the likelihood of developing heart disease and stroke.
