Light Duty Pallets for Retail Display – What's Your Experience?

I manage a small supermarket chain in Sharjah and we're looking to upgrade our in-store product display setup. We currently use basic wooden pallets for stacking promotional items and beverage cartons, but honestly they look terrible and customers sometimes complain about splinters. A colleague suggested plastic options since they're more hygienic and presentable, and I've been browsing some light duty pallets designed specifically for retail environments. The thing is, I'm not sure what load capacity we actually need because we mostly stack bottled drinks and packaged snacks, nothing too heavy, but we do need them to handle constant restocking without warping. I noticed some models have rimmed edges which seems great for keeping products contained, and others have anti-slip surfaces which would be a lifesaver because our floor gets slippery sometimes. Has anyone here switched from wood to plastic for in-store displays? I'm curious about durability in high-traffic areas and whether they hold up well with frequent forklift movements. Also, do you find the nestable design actually saves space when they're not in use? I found a trusted light duty pallet supplier in UAE that seems to have good options, but I'd love some honest feedback before we commit to a full order.
