Intrauterine insemination IUI Treatment Lahore is a fertility method in which sperm is directly injected into a woman's uterus to increase her chances of conception. IUI may be recommended when male infertility, unexplained infertility, or cervical mucus is hindering sperm from reaching an egg.

Evaluation and Prep: Before initiating IUI treatment, doctors will complete medical evaluations on both partners to establish the cause of infertility. Procedure

In Vitro Fertilization can take place naturally, but women usually take medication to stimulate their ovaries into producing multiple eggs that will then be inseminated at precisely the right moment during ovulation. Once collected, semen samples should be sent home or to a laboratory after 2-5 days of abstinence from sexual activity.

Semen is washed in the laboratory using either a gradient or swim-up technique, known as "sperm processing." This typically takes 30-40 minutes. Finally, about 0.4-0.5 ml of culture media is added to complete processing before insemination occurs.

This washed sample is then transferred to the uterus using a sterile flexible catheter, and the patient can return home within half an hour without experiencing any pain or discomfort.

 Best results can be achieved if a woman is under 35 years of age and her infertility does not go back beyond four or five years.

What should be the recommended number of IUI attempts?

For women without an ovulation disorder, the optimal results from three IUI attempts combined with inducing ovulation may be seen within three shots of IUI; up to six may be attempted along with inducing ovulation; if pregnancy does not result, counseling and IVF treatment options may be pursued instead; otherwise, IUID (Donor Insemination) can also be considered.

In cases of absolute azoospermia, donor samples must be used for insemination (all other conditions remain unchanged, as in IUI using the husband's sperm). Only frozen donor sperm has been tested for HIV, Hepatitis, ABO, and Rh group compatibility before use in insemination.
