How To Implement Feng Shui in Your Home

Have you ever felt like there is something off in your home and you can’t put a finger on it? For many people, they walk into a space in their home and can sense that it doesn't feel right, no matter how much they swap around furniture and add extra decorations. This can leave many feeling deflated and confused, struggling to make their spaces feel right.

Well, there is a solution to this problem in the form of an ancient Chinese tradition called feng shui. This Chinese practice aims to balance energies and elements to create harmony within a space, using colours, arranging furniture and natural elements. The theory is that when these elements are balanced, they will promote well-being within the home so that good energies can flow through and bad energies are expelled from space.

So, if you want to learn more about feng shui and transform your space, scratching that itch that you've had for months, read on and discover how you can implement this chinese tradition into your home.

Start With Lay Out

Layout is a very important aspect when it comes to feng shui. A stey layout of a room can dictate the feel and vibe of a space. The first tip when  changing lay white is to remove clutter from a space. Not only is clutter visually unappealing, but it also crowds a space making it feel smaller which can stop positive energy from moving through a space. This can become a problem especially in smaller spaces, making it hard to navigate a room leading to trips and falls. In addition to removing clutter, placements and command positions also have a prominent effect on the energy in a space.

Furniture such as beds and sofas should be positioned diagonally or opposite a door rather than in a direct line as this allows you to see the entry ways without being aligned with it, promoting positive energy flow. As well, you should maximise natural light whilst minimising the appearance and the noise from technology through lift servicing with a room as this can disturb positive energy.

Bring in the 5 Elements

The 5 elements are very important when it comes to balancing your home by incorporating the 5 elements of the earth including wood, fire, earth, metal and water. There are ways that you can include these elements around the home to ensure that a space feels balanced. To include wood which symbolizes growth and vitality you can include greens and plants, to include fire for energy you can include candles as well as reds and oranges and water can be represented by reflected surfaces to represent calmness. These should not all be implemented into one room as this can overwhelm space but adding a few elements into a room can ground space and promote vitality.

In rooms such as bedrooms you may want to implement calming elements, however it's important to follow placement rules as placing a mirror opposite a bed can bring in bad energy.
