Dagenite Battery in My Truck – Any Good for Heavy Duty Use?
I've got a bit of a unique situation and I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction. I run a small contracting business based out near the ICAD area, and I've got a 2017 Ford F-150 that I use for hauling equipment and materials around job sites. The truck gets used hard – lots of start-stop driving around industrial areas, towing trailers, and running power tools off an inverter when I'm on site. The battery situation has been a nightmare because standard car batteries just don't seem to last in these conditions. I've gone through three batteries in the past two years, and I'm getting really tired of dealing with it. A guy I know who runs a similar business recommended I look into Dagenite batteries because apparently they're built for heavy duty applications and can handle the kind of abuse that kills regular batteries. He said they're commonly used in commercial vehicles and have a reputation for being tough and reliable. I've done a bit of research and it seems like Dagenite has been around for a long time and they're known for making quality products, but I've never actually seen one in person or talked to anyone who's used one in a pickup truck. The thing is, I work near ICAD and I'm trying to find a Dagenite battery garage serving ICAD that actually stocks these batteries and knows how to fit them properly. I don't want to go to some random place that just sells whatever they have in stock and doesn't really understand the specific needs of a truck that gets used for work. My main concern is whether a Dagenite battery can handle the combination of extreme heat, vibration from rough roads, and the constant drain from running accessories with the engine off. I've heard that Dagenite uses thicker plates than some other brands, which should make them more resistant to vibration damage and sulfation, but I'm not sure if that's just marketing talk or actually true. Also, I'm curious about the price – are they significantly more expensive than regular batteries, or are they competitively priced given the supposed quality? And do they actually honour the warranty if something goes wrong? I don't mind paying a bit more if it means I'm not replacing the battery every year, but I need to be confident that it's actually going to deliver on its promises. If anyone here has used a Dagenite battery in a truck or any other vehicle, especially in a work environment, I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience. Also, if you know of a specific garage in the ICAD area that stocks them and does good work, that would be incredibly helpful.
