The Handicrafts and Carpet Sector Skill Council (HCSSC) and the Indian Institute of Fashion & Design (IIFD) have entered into an MoU to integrate skills directly into higher education programs. The collaboration introduces NSQC-approved courses into IIFD’s B.Voc and Diploma curricula, aligning learning outcomes with industry needs.

This initiative reflects the growing demand for education that prepares students for immediate employability. By bringing skills into classrooms, HCSSC and IIFD aim to create a generation of learners equipped with practical knowledge and technical expertise.
Aligned with NEP 2020, the MoU ensures that students benefit from structured vocational training alongside academic instruction. This dual focus strengthens career readiness, empowering students to contribute effectively to the workforce in the fashion, design, and handicrafts sectors.
The HCSSC–IIFD collaboration represents a progressive step in bridging education and employment. It highlights the importance of partnerships between academic institutions and skill councils in creating pathways that prepare students for future challenges while supporting national development goals.
