Australian Wine Club Membership: What You Get and How It Works

Anyone who has done a wine tasting Hunter Valley style knows the problem. You find a few wines you like, buy a couple of bottles, and then it is months before you think about the winery again. A wine club solves that. This post explains how an Australian wine club membership works at Savannah Estate, which club to pick and what you get as a member.

How the Club Works

Members get a pack of six bottles three times a year. The packs go out when the new vintages are released, which is usually February or March, July and November or December. It works like a private tasting of new releases at home, without having to travel to the valley each time.

Choose the Club That Suits You

We run four options, so you can pick the one that matches what you like to drink.

  • Red Wine Club:six pre-selected red bottles, three times a year, for $190 per pack.
  • Mixed Wine Club:six bottles of reds and whites, three times a year, for $160 per pack. This one suits people who like variety.
  • White Wine Club:six bottles of whites, three times a year, for $160 per pack. Our winemaker and staff choose them from our vineyards in the Hunter Valley and Mudgee.
  • Members Choice:you choose at least six wines yourself from the Savannah Estate range, all at the members discount. Your selection arrives in March, July and December.

If you already know what you like, Members Choice gives you the most control. If you would rather be surprised, one of the pre-selected clubs is simpler.

What Members Get

Every club comes with the same benefits:

  • 15% off standard prices, at the cellar door and online
  • 10% off at Petersons affiliate locations in Armidale, Mudgee, Denman and the Hunter Valley, including Pokolbin Cider House, Peterson House, Lambloch, Ben Ean, and Petersons at Mt View and Broke Rd
  • 10% off the standard room rates at Petersons Guesthouse in Armidale
  • Tastings in our private cellars, which you need to book
  • Email invitations to wine events and dinners through the year

The discounts add up if you buy wine often or plan a weekend away in the valley. They also apply to bottles you buy outside your regular packs.

Taste Before You Join

If you are unsure which club to choose, the easiest way is to try the wines first. Book wine tasting Hunter Valley visits at either of our cellar doors, on Broke Road in Pokolbin or at Mount View. Tell the staff what you usually drink and they can point you to the club that fits.

Many visitors say the staff are friendly and happy to talk through the wines without any pressure. That makes it a good time to ask questions about the packs and how deliveries work.
