740i Engine Shudder – Is This a Common Issue or Am I Doomed?
BMW Repair Abu Dhabi
Okay so I've had my 740i for about 18 months now and up until recently it's been an absolute dream to drive, but over the last couple of weeks I've noticed this intermittent shudder that happens when I'm idling at traffic lights – almost like the engine is misfiring or struggling to maintain a steady RPM. It doesn't happen every time, which makes it even more frustrating because I can't reliably reproduce it for a mechanic to diagnose. I've already replaced the spark plugs and coils thinking that would solve it, but nope, the shudder is still there teasing me every few days. I'm starting to wonder if it could be a vacuum leak or maybe something related to the VANOS system, but honestly I'm no expert and I don't want to just keep throwing money at guesses. I've been doing some reading online and came across https://exoticautoservices.ae/bmw/bmw-repair-abu-dhabi/ which seems to cover a lot of the common BMW issues, but I'd really prefer to hear from actual owners who've dealt with similar problems before I commit to taking my car anywhere. Has anyone else experienced this on the N63 engine and found a fix that actually worked? I'm also concerned about whether it's safe to keep driving it in the meantime because I really can't afford to be without my car right now with work being so hectic. Any advice on what to check first or which specific diagnostics I should ask for would be hugely helpful. Cheers in advance for any wisdom you can share.
